Goodbye party

Aunt Sarah and cousin Isabella moved to NC today, so on Friday night we had a farewell gathering. There is nothing I love more than when everyone gets together, especially when the little cousins get the chance to run and around and play together!

Boy do they love the bubbles!

The three girls had a blast on the window bench. One would scream really loud, then the others would chime in...it was not pretty, but it was pee-your-pants hilarious!

Kiss!

She just loves her Aunt Sarah!

It was such a fun night. We will miss Aunt Sarah & Isabella soooo much!

Fun on a Friday morning

Audrey has learned how to climb on her PBK chair up onto the couch. And she thinks it's hilarious.

Ha! I'm up here and there's NOTHING you can do about it!

What she really wants is to pet Zoe...

This is very scary from Zoe's vantage point

Oh shiz!

Isn't it a little too early to be so body conscious, Miss Audrey?

Mickey Mouse Clubhooouuuuuuse

Audrey has been mimicking all the time lately. At the end of every MMCH she tries to sing the drawn out parts of the Hot Dog song:

Her 15 month appt was this morning and the Dr is not at all concerned about her eating habits and lack of weight gain. She's developing beautifully and is a great conversationalist. When she asked if Audrey liked books, Audrey walked over to the book basket and took one out! It was so funny. She loved tearing around the waiting room just smiling and laughing and chatting up a storm. She is such a fun kid! Dr. C said that they're really into mimicking at this age. While we were in the room waiting for the doc, I put her Mickey & Minnie on the stool and spun them around. She thought it was funny and continued to spin them herself, take them down, put them back on, spin again. It's amazing to see her do new things, learn new tricks. Dr C. said that their language really takes off between now and 18 months. I can't wait to see how much she's learned by then! She took her shots like a pro (3 this time, including the Chicken Pox vaccine!) The nurse gave her a lollipop which she really loved :)

I can't believe it's already Thursday! I have so enjoyed having this time at home. I added a Summer countdown to the blog.

Summer is right around the corner!

I have to say that being home this week, paired with the super hot weather we've had, is getting me super psyched for summer. But then that means the end to what has been the BEST school year so far with the greatest group of kids I've ever had. I'm secretly hoping they'll let me loop to 3rd grade! The final days will definitely be bittersweet.

Today Audrey and I took a walk after nap/lunch. It.was.hot. I let her get down and run around the courthouse just so I could take a break (and snap some pictures, of course!)

Getting ready to take off...she carries her Mickey and Minnie almost everywhere now!

FAST

Tomorrow she has her 15 month appointment. I fully plan on ratting her out the pedi about her lack of eating.

Bunny Pictures!

I took Audrey to Potomac Mills (an outlet mall) today and we had an awesome time! We came home to find her bunny pictures waiting for us in the mail:

Easter 2010

What a gorgeous day! The weather was absolutely perfect to attempt our first egg hunt. But first we gave Audrey her Easter basket:

I love her expression here

She loved her Dora book!

Flying around the house with Dad!

Reading one of her Easter cards.

Ready!

She was really hesitant about walking in the grass, so Dad had to pick her up

Then we played with the bubbles...

Back inside for a bit to rest!

We took a walk later in the afternoon:

For funsies, a few pics of sweet Audrey Cate last year:

Hope everyone had a wonderful Easter, I can't wait to see everyone else's pics!

Spring Break!

It's hard to believe that we had two weeks off back in February (it seems like ages ago!) School has been hectic and even on the weekends downtime is cut short by family/friend visits, shopping trips, and errands. Poor Audrey spends a lot of our weekend in her car seat, stroller, and shopping carts. So I am quite relieved that Spring Break is here and we can have a lot of time at HOME.

Can I just say how excited I am about her most recent communicative skill? She tries to mimic me when I count to three or say, "I love you!" Maybe mimic is the wrong word b/c she doesn't say "three" or "you." More like she anticipates the final word of my sentence and tries to play along. While she's not saying the words, it's very exciting to me :)

On Thursday night I took her to school for our Multicultural Night and Ice Cream Social (she loved the ice cream, btw!) I truly hope that one day she'll be a gator and so I couldn't resist taking a few pictures of her roaming the halls:

"No running in the hall!"

I will SO be taking a picture like this on her first day of school!!

This is how our night went: when she wasn't in her stroller, she was being chased by a bunch of (well-meaning) elementary kids. She loved the attention and the kids were so good with her!

On Friday Grandma & Grandpa sent us home with a bubble machine they had picked up for Audrey. She really loves it when their dog Asia snaps at the bubbles...I mean, she nearly hyperventilates with laughter. Unfortunately our dogs do not care for the bubble machine, but at least that gives Audrey a chance to enjoy the bubbles!
