My First Mother's Day

It was wonderful! Last year Chris took me to Mother's Day brunch at the Mattaponi Golf Club. We were celebrating the fact that we were newly pregnant. So it was very fitting that we had brunch there this morning, but this time as a family of three :) He had to work the rest of the day, so Audrey and I hung out the rest of the day. The weather was beautiful and when Chris got home he snapped some pictures of us in front of the pretty flower bushes we have growing on the side of the house.









When Chris asked what I wanted for Mother's Day, I had no idea what to tell him. I did know that I wanted something "motherly"...something that would reminded me of my beautiful daughter. He picked out the perfect gift from Tiffany's:



It will also have Audrey's initials. I can hardly wait for it to get here!! Every time I look at it I'll think of my lovely Audrey and thoughtful Christopher. They are my life and the reason I'm a mom.

Solids

On Sunday Audrey had her first bit of rice cereal! It was so fun to put her in her highchair an slap a bib on her. How did we get here already?

Day two wasn't very successful. She was fussy and not at all receptive to my attempts (I was making funny airplane noises and everything!) So we'll just keep trying once a day until she gets the hang of it. It's hard to believe that one day soon she'll be shoveling food into her mouth just like her momma ;)

We hardly got any sleep last night....it seems like Miss Audrey was having some issues. She woke every 3 hours to eat and kept making these pitiful grunting sounds. Last night was the first time we tried rice cereal and I'm wondering if she was a bit stopped up. So, if you're like me and could use a laugh today, here's a cute video for you :)

Her 4 month check up went well. She's 23 1/4 inches long and 12lbs 13 oz. She had to get 4 shots and she screamed so loudly! Poor baby. It took awhile for her to calm down, then she zonked out the rest of the afternoon. The pedi gave us the go ahead for solids so we might try some rice cereal this weekend. I'm excited to see how she likes it!

4 months old!

What a difference a year makes! It was exactly this time last year we found out we were pregnant. I'll never forget that day- it was the beginning of the best year of my life. From a family of 2 to a family of 3:

Nothing is better than seeing her smile...sometimes I can't believe the cuteness we created! She is beyond what I had ever hoped for!!





It has been a crazy year with big changes. A year ago I dreamed of having a precious little baby and today it's a reality. We love you sweet Audrey Cate!

Bath Time

Audrey loves her bath! She gets one every night as part of her bedtime routine. Must be nice to be a baby :)

Sleeping Beauty

So ever since last weekend we've been letting Audrey sleep in her bouncer all night. She goes to bed after her bath and sleeps ALL NIGHT! It's been magical. Everyone is much happier getting more sleep. Her new thing is turning to her side while in the bouncer:












Sometimes she doesn't even wait until she's in her bouncer before she's fast asleep!

Hoppy Easter!

We had a nice quiet Easter at home. The Easter Bunny brought Audrey a basket filled with candy, books, bunny ears, and a bunny rattle :) Next Easter we'll get to do some really fun stuff like dye eggs and go on an egg hunt! This year we settled for being cute:

We're hoping that Easter brings us another niece...my SIL Brandy was admitted early this morning after her water broke. We're anxiously awaiting the arrival of Miss Nina Sophia!

Audrey- 107, Parents- 1

I can't believe I'm finally typing this...she STTN!!! From 9 pm- 6am. She had a bottle around 6:30 after we ate dinner. We played, she had her bath, then I put her in the bouncy chair in our bedroom so I could watch LOST. Well, we both fell asleep. The next thing I knew it was 10:00! I got up and made her a bottle b/c I was sure she's be up any minute. I went back to sleep and kept waking up every 30 minutes or so to check her...next thing I knew it was 6:00!! I couldn't believe it, but I was thrilled. We had happy fun time when she woke up...I kept telling her how proud I was of her and that I'd buy her a pony if she would do it every night (sorry, Chris!) And of course what kind of mom would I be if I didn't document this momentous occasion??

I'm bummed that she didn't sleep in her crib, but at least we know that she can sleep more than 4 hours straight. If only I could turn that crib into one big vibrating bouncy chair...

Audrey and cousin Bella had their pictures taken a couple of weeks ago at JCP. The cuteness is unreal! We had a hard time choosing our favorites so my mother in law bought practically all of them, lol. I am so in love with Audrey's sweet chubby face...I could look at it all day! Tomorrow we go to see the Easter Bunny, hoooray!
