Spring Break: Weekend Wrap Up

On Saturday Abigail raced in the Diaper Derby. It was kind of a last minute decision and I'm so glad we did it! It was so adorable to see all the babies. Abigail was #26. She didn't win her heat, but she finished...and isn't that what's important? ;)

#1!!

Yes, my child is still wearing her 3D glasses. Yes, she looks like Woody Allen.

I love when they hold hands! They were great cheerleaders for Abby!

Bella and Sarah came to cheer her on. It really was so much fun! We stopped by Grandma's house for a bit, then we were off to pick up Scott for the Circus!

Audrey was anxious at first (it was pretty loud) but then she totally got into it. She really loved it! Abigail was into it for the first 30 minutes. Then she just wanted to get down, or get up and walk around. I had her in the Moby so walking around with her was easy- but as soon as I'd climb the 50,000 steps to our seat, she'd start crying. I should've known she wasn't ready (she also hadn't had a good nap all day!) Oh well, I got to see the best parts- the elephants, the tigers (wow!) and all the other cool tricks.

By the time we picked up dinner, dropped off Scott and got home it was 8:30! Both girls went right to bed. Chris worked late and I was passed out before he got home. It was an exhausting day!

Sunday was perfect. I played with the girls and did things around the house. We went on a walk in the wagon and blew bubbles.

Spring Break came at the perfect time this year! I absolutely cannot wait for Summer :)

Spring Break Day 5

Friday already. I'm not at all ready to go back to work for 9 more weeks (+2 days.) But seriously, today was awesome.

The girls and I went grocery shopping as soon as we were dressed. We had a great time- seriously...these girls are a dream to shop with! Abigail was so content and Audrey was great company. I want to always remember how precious they are at this moment...because it can't last forever (right?!)

We got home and I put Abby down for her nap right away. Audrey helped me unload the groceries.

I don't know why she hung the bags on the knobs- too funny!

Then she colored and had a snack while I put everything away and made jambalaya (sooo yummy!) Later she played on the computer.

When Abby woke up we took a nice long walk in the stroller and played with the bubbles. It was another gorgeous day!

Audrey went down for her nap at 2:00 but I could hear her talking and playing for 45 minutes! When I went in I noticed that she had switched to the other end of the bed and she had her stuffed animals and dolls all lined up on the other end.

Silly girl.

She finally fell asleep. Abby laid down aound 3:00 and had a great nap. At about 4:00 Audrey woke up kind of upset and saying, "I want you." So I sat with her on the couch and she fell right back to sleep. I couldn't have been more relaxed or happy- it was so nice to have my sweet girl resting on me. I adore her so much! I finally laid her in my bed and let her sleep as late as she wanted (past 5:00!)

She tried green beans but didn't like them. She started picking around them to get all the chicken!

Taking lots of steps!

CRASH!

When the girls woke we went for another walk- Abby in the Moby Wrap and Audrey on foot. And of course we blew more bubbles :) The girls had dinner and then Audrey had a bath while Abby watched. Abby went to bed right before Chris got home but Audrey stayed up until 9:00. She didn't fall asleep until after 10:00 though because she kept playing with her stuffed animals. She's going to be tired tomorrow!

I begrudgingly got started on report cards and got quite a few done. Then it was off to bed so we could enjoy the weekend!

Spring Break Day 4

Day 4?! Already?! Well all the other weeks seem to fly by, why should Spring Break be any different?

We had a nice, easy, fun morning. Abigail and I stayed in our PJs. Audrey was dressed as soon as I got her out of bed, lol. She immediately put on her 3D glasses and pulled out the Dora microphone.

Abigail's newest craze is going back and forth in the opening of the living room table.

It's getting hard for Audrey because she still likes to build her towers and arrange picnics/parties and stage her little figurines. Abigail just wants to ruin everything :) She will only be distracted by other toys for so long. Luckily Audrey is pretty good natured about it and seems to understand that Abby is just a baby. Nevertheless, thank goodness the nice weather is here. We went out in the backyard for the first time :)

This is Audrey's perfect slide- short!

Taking steps!

Falling down

All she wanted to do was crawl around in the grass (creeps me out!) I'm actually glad she'll be walking around come summertime :)

I got some laundry done, the junk drawer cleaned out and I started making Abby's birthday sign. We had a nice dance party in the living room while I cooked a yummy dinner (thanks, Pinterest!) I'm sad that tomorrow is Friday :(

Spring Break Day 3

We had a pretty good morning. Chris laid around until I nagged him enough to go outside and wash the swing set :) I got one of the hall closets cleaned out (yay me!) Abigail is doing crazy awesome standing by herself. She goes through all sorts of emotions when she realizes that she's doing it....excited, scared, mad. She starts taking frantic steps and then ends up crashing into me. I love it!

She won't get into a standing position straight from the floor just yet (she's maybe done it twice.) I'm sure that will happen in the next week or so!

Me & mini-me :)

I decided to take Audrey to her very first movie. The only kid-friendly movie that was playing was The Lorax. Audrey was very excited about our date!

When we walked into the theater, she insisted that we go all the way to the top. She was fine until the previews started!

She was literally in the fetal position, peeking at the screen through her fingers and saying, "I want to go hoooooome!"

I sat her on my lap and talked her through the previews. In hindsight, a 3D movie probably wasn't the best idea for her first movie, lol. About 10 minutes into the movie she was a lot more relaxed so I sat her in the next chair and gave her some gummies. She was great the rest of the movie!

I loved our little date. I hope we get to do it more often in the Summer!

Spring Break- Days 1 & 2

Oh how I love Spring Break! Spring doesn't officially start for me until now. It's also a Summer tease :) Staying home and playing with the girls while getting little things done around the house is my fave. I know- I'm so boring, lol.

On Monday we had a nice lazy morning. I was up early to enjoy my morning cup(s) of coffee while everyone slept. When the girls got up we all hung out and watched Dad get ready for work. We played in Abby's room for while (I started cleaning out her closet, too.) During Abby's morning nap I was able to put dinner in the crockpot & clean out the food pantry. Then I took the girls for a walk in their wagon. It was such a beautiful Spring day. When the girls took their afternoon nap I cleaned out the fridge and painted some wall frames. We had a fun evening just hanging out, then the girls had their baths and went to bed. Actually, I let Audrey stay up a bit later- we cuddled and watched part of a movie until about 9:00. Didn't feel like a typical Monday, that's for sure!

Hanging out with Abs, first thing in the morning :)

Abigail is so serious!

Audrey is so silly!

I notiiced that some of the flowers in our yard are really starting to bloom! Butterfly was an added bonus!

I love that this looks like a heart!

I can't wait for this whole bush to be filled with white blossoms. It's my favorite!

Abigail was in one of her "I will cry until you pick me up" moods...

...so I blew some bubbles and she was totally fine :)

Audrey, chillin and eating some pretzels as Abigail pulls on her dress, lol.

This morning the girls slept in- until about 8:00. Audrey woke up and said, "I want to get dressed. I want to wear a dress- not a shirt." She is so her father's child in that way, lol. I'll stay in my lounge wear alll day long if I can! We played in Audrey's room and I started tidying up/packing away some toys. After Abby's nap we went outside and played with bubbles. Then we took another stroll in the wagon. Audrey sang, "F-A-M-I-L-Y" :)

This is my view, turned around. Abigail was holding on to the back of my pants and walking right behind me as I made her breakfast :)

Catching bubbles

Love these little beauties!

Later in the afternoon, Audrey and I played Zingo (she's so good at reading her card and the word chips!!)

Thinking hard!

This is right after she put her hands on the floor, stood straight up and took a step to get to me!! Love her sweet face!!!!

We had dinner, played with bubbles outside and then hung out the rest of the night. A great start to Spring Break!
